Tasting Notes

Petro Vaselo Ovaș 2011

DOC Recaș | Banat | Romania

Deep ruby with an orange rim. Intense aromas of blackcurrant and spices – black pepper – blackberry, plum, red berries, smoked meat, cedar in the background. Sweet spices also – cinnamon, a touch of vanilla. High acidity, full body. Tannins are in the medium plus range, and ripe. Black currant, plum, cedar and sweet spices – cinnamon, vanilla – on the palate. I caught a tinge of green bell pepper on the long, zesty finish. Ovaș is the name of the hill on which vines are planted.
